Andrea Arnold was born on the 5th of April 1961 in Dartford in Kent and has one daughter. She grew up as the eldest of four siblings on a council estate in Dartford. She left school in the late 70’s to take her career seriously and became a dancer, she was also a dancer on the famous show Top of the pops. She was also named as one of Britain’s top 50 female power players on international woman’s day in 2012 by the officials from the Uk;s women film organisation. Andrea is not only a director, but a writer too. She is most popular for No73 written in 1982, she starred in Fish Tank (2009) and Red Road (2006).
